Why do the networks not allow enough time for a game? |

EVERY Sunday night its the same damn thing. Over paid professional athletes playing a game pushes back ALL THE OTHER PROGRAMING for the evening. Of course my DVR doesn't adjust for the games that ALWAYS overrun their allotted time. It seems as if EVERY game runs over, every time. I then either miss a show like 60 minutes because my DVR doesn't know it was delayed or I only see half of it. Right now as I wait to adjust other shows I have seen the last two minutes of three different games.
Why doesn't the NFL start the games to be more accommodating to the evening television schedule? Why should an hour long game take four & a half hours to play? I don't watch that but every weekend I have to adjust start times for programs because of it. I might just have to give up network television for good.

1. I know and it's always been that way. The last three minutes can take a half hour... |

When I used to schedule CBS programming, we allowed three hours for football and baseball, two-and-a-half for basketball...
