Who is going out to look at the moon tonight?
There's some unique planetary alignment that won't happen again until 2050 or so; Jupiter and Venus at the cusp of the moon?

I recall, a few days ago, two bright lights in the east at 8PM - too bright to be starts and moving way too slow to be black helicopters so I suspected they were planets...

I'll see if I can procure halfway decent pics and post them later on...

1. I always do,
but I'll be sure to look extra hard toinght. Wish I'd known a couple hours ago, could have told my friend. Thanks for the heads-up.

And good luck getting decent pics. :)

6. The camera that came with the telescope is 640x480 and requires a computer attached.
Why they wouldn't make a universal camera adapter for various SLR lens types -- unless this model, which has had passable reviews and is a good beginners' unit, produces shite results (in which case it shouldn't be $200 or $500 but $25)

7. Thx...
A tripod to hold the camera over the telescope's viewer should be sufficient -- test results were better with the DSLR, despite needing more exposure time.

Current conditions are clear, and the moon will be up around 8PM or so... I can see some stars right now... but no moon.

Once done, I'll turn the unit 180% to west; Orion will be there -- assuming this is good gear and the claims of capturing nebula are true...
