Your Favorite Non-Traditional Christmas Movie
Our family's Christmas Eve routine has alway been to have a big meal, get the kids in their jammies, and settle in on the couch and watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It would wind the kids down for bed.

As the kids got older we made it a double feature adding a non-traditional Christmas movie -- a movie that somehow features the holidays without it being the main theme. We've watched Die Hard, While You Were Sleeping, Love Actually, and Lethal Weapon -- you get the idea.

I need suggestions for this year. Can you help?

1. My sister watches "While You Were Sleeping" every Christmas.
My family also watched "The Music Man" every Fourth of July.

...The Lion in Winter and The Ref. Both remind me very much of family holidays...

5. Yes!
My husband's favorite, too - he hates Christmas. "The Ref" is a pretty good one, too.

12. Alien, and then John Carpenter's The Thing
Two very special little Christmas gifts in those movies.

So precious, I'm choking up with emotion right now as I think about it.

15. The Lion In Winter-its the story of a warm, family gathering together to celebrate
the birth of our savior, while plotting to kill each other. It won some Oscars, most notably, best actress Kate.

20. Yeah, this was my first thought too.
One year, my mom was pestering my brother and I to watch a Christmas movie together. So we watched Gremlins. I don't think that was what she had in mind, but we enjoyed it.
