My semester has ended prematurely. It's for the best
I have requested that all of my grades be entered as Incomplete, so that I can deal with my family stuff. 2 out of 3 Professors have ok'd it, and I'm sure the 3rd will as well.

I feel like a quitter, but I just can't do it all. A leave of absence was unacceptable, as it would leave Ws on my transcript, and would screw up my financial aid.

Sigh. I'm so tired.

1. It's the right thing to do.
Just be sure to be really zealous about getting them fulfilled. I don't know how long your university gives you, but sometimes it can be as short as the end of the next enrolled semester.

9. I'm planning on getting it all done before next semester
I have a 5 week break...well now, a 7.5 week break. But, I have a full year in which to get them done. :)

2. My dear bi_baby...
I think that's a very smart move for you now...

When you consider the huge amounts of stress that you're dealing with...

And no way are you a quitter! Sometimes schedules just have to be adjusted.

Please take care of yourself, OK?

3. Don't feel like a quitter. You are doing the right thing.
Family comes first. School will always be there. I know it sucks to have to sort of put your own life on hold.

warrior woman. Your intellectual curiosity is part of you -- it won't leave you -- and school will be there later. Lightin' a candle for you, okay? :loveya:

13. Real smart move
You know how to prioritize.

When you get your other stuff settled to your satisfaction, and you get some rest, you'll do beautifully when you return.

Good luck.

15. Sounds like you simply rearranged some priorities.
That is not quitting. (and what is so bad about quitting in and of itself? - sometimes it is the more intelligent option)

You made what sounds like a mature and healthy decision.

I worry that at some point I will fail to deliver when one of Debi, Jr.'s action figures 'has an injury'. To day I've been able to keep them in action after a day or two on the 'injured reserve'.

:7 anything for my boy!

31. Awesome
I have an original Bret Hart doll with a broken leg, close to original Cactus Jack doll with a broken arm, Yokazuna with a cracked shoulder blade. I also have a few breakaway tables that the nobs busted off from crashing opponents too hard through them too many times.

:D

37. Debi, Jr. has a Vader figure that now only has one leg and one arm
b/c finally there just wasn't enough Super Glue to go around! (Don't worry, though...he performs admirably in his matches even w/his disability...Debi, Jr.s Championship Wrestling is disability friendly and an EOE!!).

If the ball joint to the leg and arm are still on the figures I bet I could repair them. The table??? probably better to just buy new but keep the old b/c there is nothing like being hit over the head w/ 1/2 of a broken table to stun an opponent!

There has got to be a way to make a living at repairing WWE action figures - I am becoming a pro!

:P

32. One of the first things my Graduate adviser told the incoming group of Grad Students...
Was to do what ever was necessary to take care of our health, because if we didn't, we'd pay a far steeper price than if we had to take an Incomplete. Take care of your health Bi-baby, be it physical, emotional, or spiritual. The classes and papers will still be there, believe me, they don't go away (even if you want them too)

Be well, and good luck.

You need time to deal with things one at a time. Family matters won't wait. Classes will.

I hope you can pick things back up next semester and do very well. :)

36. I'm sorry, I know a parent-situation can be totally overwhelming -
I was clear across the country when my mom spiraled, very quickly, into the need for 24-hour/day care that my dad couldn't (or wouldn't) provide. I had just gotten married, started a stressful job. I know some of what you're going through, and while it seems too much right now, there WILL be answers.

Take care of yourself, and do your best for your family. You must realize, though, that you might not find the perfect solution - those of us w/o unlimited $$ resources just have to do the best we can, and come to some sort of peace with that reality.

  - this will be tough, but you just keep on going. I'm glad sniffa is there to lean on.
