A dozen retired generals are calling for the Obama administration to overturn Bush administration policies on detention and interrogation.
The former military leaders met Wednesday with President-elect Barack Obama's top legal advisers. The group made a pitch for overturning Bush administration policies on detention, interrogation and so-called renditions, where detainees are sent to other countries for interrogation.
Among other things, the generals would like to see the CIA barred from using harsh interrogation methods that go beyond those approved for use by the military. They're also backing the closure of the U.S. jail at Guantanamo Bay.
Retired Marine Gen. Joseph Hoar, a former chief of the Central Command, called Wednesday's meeting "productive."
