They want more guns when that happens, but not to fight (because they're cowards), but to give them more to cry about when the confiscation occurs. Of course, there won't be a gun confiscation, so the end result is that there will be a lot of used guns for sale a few years down the road.

Anyway, you don't shoot sea monsters, you pray them away...
