Just found out that my step mother has been put in hospice. The doctor does not expect her to last the weekend. Apparently she responded badly to chemo, and radiation was not possible due to her poor health. They are out in Wisconsin, so I will not be able to get out to see her. She's a very sweet lady, and I know my father is going to take it hard.

18. hoping that the love of friends and family

will be a source of comfort to your dad, yourself, and all who love her, and that her passing will be peaceful. I'm a blues musician too ( not that that matters in this circumstance) and I lost my step mom in January. My dad obviously took it hard too, but although he has his lonely moments, he's now doing pretty well, staying busy and living life.
