28. OK, let me now blow you away. What do you think the most common question...
... at Disney World in Florida is?

It is not "Where's Mickey?"

It is not "Where's the bathroom?"

It is... wait for it...

"What time is the 3 O'Clock Parade?"

The answer isn't 3 O'Clock. It is "Where are you going to be at XXX time, because this is when the parade passes by."

Mark.

9. Well, since it's not "my" store in the sense that I don't own it...
...I'd prefer only semi-intelligent, polite people shop there. The owners however, are willing to let pretty much everyone through the doors.

We mainly sell housewares.

99% of the customers are fine upstanding human beings, but man, that last one percent...

11. It appears you work retail of some sort.
I, for one, apologize for my fellow "people" at this time of the year.

I always do my best to treat clerks, salespeople, etc as best I can.

13. I worked as a Christmas temp in a department store when I was in college.
People can get a little crazy. But for the most part, people were pleasant. But I am sure that had everything to do with the fact they were dealing with me! Hahahaha! I kid, I kid.

18. My least favorite thing about retail is that it makes me despise humanity.
There are some really truly awful people out there. Their sense of entitlement knows no bounds.

Waiters, waitresses, and retail salespeople all seem to develop a rather dim view of humanity after a while.

19. I said today that I hate people.
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 10:55 PM by Shell Beau
My husband thought that was kinda harsh. And sure it is, but it seems when people do tend to suck, they suck in massive quantities.
Don't turn into oncoming traffic you asshole when your turn signal is RED and purposely go slow and stare me down as you are slowly turning to see if I hit your pretentious ass jaguar. If I didn't have my child and husband in the car, I may not have slammed on the brakes. I would have hit your sorry ass just to prove a point. And that was just one dumbass driver out there on the road today. I think I had a "please piss me off" sticker on my car or something.

Whew! I feel better now. Wrong day to fuck with me apparently.

24. Wow, I thought I was the only one who felt like
that today.

"Wrong day to fuck with me apparently."

It was one of those days where I felt the same way. Then the paper deliverer had the audacity to write a nasty note on my aunt's papers from the last 4 days. Now, she's pissed off too. It has not been a good day for moods anywhere, has it?

and I swear to god, every fucking kid from the store had to yell at his/her mom to look at the fish. Hasn't anyone ever seen a fucking fish before? Oh, and the kids kept pounding on the glass, even though there are signs with big letters saying "Do NOT pound on glass". :eyes:

34. Actually the reason people buy fish tanks has to do with the fact that they like to look at fish.
I thought everybody knew that.

I wouldn't have a fish tank, because of the cyanide problem, but that's just my opinion.

My upstairs neighbor is, I believe, among the top five stupidest people on the planet, and he's been nailing shit to walls and vacuuming most of the day. I think he stopped for a spell and played a little game where he shoots bowling balls out of a specially modified shotgun into the floor.

So, at least you didn't get the pleasure of his company.

I feel your pain and raise a barbed-wire covered mop handle in solidarity. I worked public-contact jobs of one variety or another that always involved dealing with the horrid "holiday shopper" for nearly 20 years until last year. I do not miss that part of it at all.
