on a serious note for the op, I don't have a favorite, but I love big fat red wines. Cabs and zins. Coturri wines, are some of my favorites. I had met Tony a couple of times while I was working the wine business. I do miss it.

6. My current favorite budget wine (and I almost didn't share this, 'cause I want it all for ME)

Robert Parker included it on his value report this year, so based on his glowing review, I ordered some. OMG. Then I ordered a lot more.

I'm especially fond of wines that have unusually long finishes, and this one does. One of the best cabs (of any price) I've had in a long time. Vintage is important on this one--I found the '06 locally, but it's not as good as the '05.

The Night Train is all business when it pulls into the station. All aboard to nowhere - woo wooo! The night train runs only one route: sober to stupid with no round trip tickets available, and a strong likelihood of a train wreck along the way. This train yard favorite is vinted and bottled by E&J Gallo Winery, in in Modesto, CA. Don't bother looking on their web page, because they dare not mention it there. As a clever disguise, the label says that it is made by "Night Train Limited."
