Prof. Douchebag has been very pleasant lately.
Which is good for professional reasons, but he's scum, and quite frankly, I don't want to be nice to scum. What he did was unforgivable, and he should be thanking his lucky stars that he's not currently in front of an ethics panel.

How do I handle Prof. Douchebag in the future? He's teaching one of my core classes in the spring. I really want nothing to do with him, and I am so thankful that I won't have to work with him as his RA. But spending time with him makes me sick and depressed.

1. Douse him with vinegar and water
That should take care of Prof. Douchebag.

2. That really sucks that you still have to deal with him.
:(

I don't have any advice. I wish I did.

3. At least it will be only for the class.
Instead of the double-dose douchiness I dealt with this fall.

5. Well... in short...
he told me that he wanted to help me make my thesis into a book... he never really gave me the time and attention needed to help me, and left me to do a lot of work on my own. He flirted with me, dropping me hints here and there, but I am married and didn't respond. Then I discovered in September that he has been very actively helping a young, blonde Master's student conference several papers during the time that I was trying to get even one meeting with him. She told me that they meet for drinks every week, and sometimes on the weekends.

He never saw through the book project.

6.  ick, well...
you have to have the class...

so just be professional, polite, do your work well, but you don't have to do anything else.

and then after the semester you could burn his effigy? and maybe take a shower?
just a thought.

7. I sorta wish I could tell his wife after it's all over...
but that's not how I roll.
