DU pet lovers: please sign this petition (Animals Allowed)

I am starting this petition to allow tenants to have pets. We pay a lot of money for an apartment that we should be able to have those rights. We put down a deposit any damages come out of our pockets, so why shouldn't we be allowed. There are so many kids here that would love to have their own puppy or kitty. Why take that away from them. From the begining (sp?) we were told pets are ok as long as there is no problem. Now all these animals are forced to be taken somewhere else.

Banning discrimination by landlords against tenants with pets will greatly reduce the population of homeless pets and will prevent people from having to make the agonizing choice between 1) running afoul of the landlord by sneaking a pet in; 2) giving up their beloved furkid to a shelter and 3) worst of all, abandoning a pet to fend for him or herself on the streets all because the humans either can't afford the surrender fee or the shelter is too far.
