6. Yeah, that was about my little sister's age when I left for college
but she was kind of used to it by then, since I was the youngest of four children up until she was born. So she had already seen the rest of them go off to college. :P

7. I had a friend who had a little sister. They'd drop off my friend at the airport
to fly to college. Turns out the little one though the university was at the airport. LOL!

10. My granddaughter thinks daddy works all day in the garage.
She's 1 1/2.
Every morning he kisses everyone goodbye, walks out the back door and across the yard, where he enters the garage through a side door.
The yard is fenced up to the front of the garage so she can't see the garage door open or his car leave.

It dawned on my daughter that Charlotte thinks daddy works in the garage all day long and comes back to the house at night.

They text all the time and they talk all the time. She really, really loves her big sister. Plus, imagine how your mom feels! It changes the entire dynamic of the house when someone goes to school.

Tell her she can call you whenever she wants to talk.

14. I experienced the reverse of that.
I am 12 years older than my youngest sibling. One year when I came home for Christmas, mom picked me up at the train station, and said, "Hey, let's go see your baby sister in her first job!" It was at KFC (yeah, lots of us went the fast food route early on), and the moment I walked into the restaurant and saw her behind the counter taking an order, I started bawling. That was my "baby" doing that!

Sometimes it works both ways. :)

16. Wait! She cried and you're STILL going to abandon her?
For what? A quality education? A chance to explore the world on your own? Your dreams of a productive future? How selfish of you! I insist that you do the right thing and abandon your hopes immediately. Dammit, some times family just has to come first!
