Did anyone know Charlize Theron's boyfriend was suppose to play Aragorn?

I thought he was good in Queen of the Damned(hated the moive,thought he was an EXCELLENT Lestat.He would have been great in Interview)& I liked him in The League of Extrodinary Gentlemen.However,he was no Viggo Mortensen!He shot the Lord of the Rings for about 4 days before Peter Jackson realized he was just to young/wrong for the part.

I feel a little sorry for the guy considering he was there front row as the Return of the King won 11 awards.Its like he's known as being Mr.Charlize Theron.Although,come to think of it I can;t feel to sorry for him.He gets to go home with Charlize!

My wife was reading about it online and there seemed to be some behind-the-camera difficulties between PJ and Stuart. I think she read some quote from Stuard to effect of his 4 days on that movie were the worst time of his life or something.
