Bless her heart. I think the pup should have been left alone instead of all the constant touching and attention. Poor thing.

On another note, I also thank the gods that people don't go into heat like cats and dogs do. Can you imagine going to the office with several co-workers howling and, whatever ... because they are ... uhm.. ripe?

1. I have a really, really stupid question.
Are birth control pills available in the US for female cats and dogs? When I came here about a decade ago, my mother-in-law had her female cat, Minz, on birth control pills, instead of having her spayed, so that Minz could have a litter of kittens later on. (She did, and Ginger was one her kittens.)

3. Hi Heidi!
:*

I have never heard of BC for female animals here. Doesn't mean it's not available and I just never heard about it though.

I had all 3 of my pets, 2 cats and a dog, fixed ASAP. Only one female - a cat.

2. I had a cat when I was a kid that always wanted me to be with her when she gave birth.
After the birth it was get away from her babies.

The mama dog looks well after giving birth to 7 babies.

5. My cat would have the kittens in the house.
She would use me as a babysitter.

She was my first cat, lived to be 15 years old, died in my arms.

I still miss her.
