Homemade Pimms? (xpost from UK forum)
We left the UK in August, and now with the coldish weather and holidays coming on, I was thinking some Pimms would be nice (we like it in warmed apple or cranberry juice). I came across a recipe online, and was wondering if anyone has ever tried it:

2 parts gin.
2 parts red vermouth.
A little more than 1 part triple sec.
a dash of Angostura bitters.

Haven't seen Pimms anywhere in Houston :)

2. Pimms is pretty good on it's own, yes
But when it's chilly outside it's nice to have a warm toddy and the juice really makes it a nice drink

3. If you have a Friar Tucks down there, it might be worth a shot
Or any of the liquor stores by a college. The Picadilly chain around University of Illinois always carries Pimms, but I've never tried it.

4. A couple of people at this site say that a bar called Under the Volcano has Pimm's
http://www.yelp.com/biz/under-the-volcano-houston
but one of them describes the drink served there and it isn't mixed with apple or cranberry. But most bartenders will work with you, or at least they could tell you where they're getting the Pimm's...

5. I found Pimms here in Milwaukee
at one of the grocery stores. I didn't realize there are several different types and I don't think what I found here is what my sister brought from England.

I'll try the recipe you posted. Sounds good!

I was able to find the real stuff at a liquor store today. Thanks to all for the suggestions and comments!
