1. I wish we'd get interesting weather. Really, just anything but
Edited on Wed Dec-10-08 06:00 PM by mycritters2
cloudy one day, sunny the next. I never get to use my adrenaline.

Hope you and the critters are safe! Enjoy that scotch!

2. I thought Illinois weather was worse than ours! Or at least the same
crazy swings. It was 60 here today. My dirt road was a mess and the ruts will freeze tonight! Where's that scotch!

4. Not here it isn't. Boring.

:boring:

When I lived further South, we used to get great ice storms. The kind where you were stuck in your house for three or four days. Not here. No good thunderstorms, no ice storms, no blizzards. I miss Iowa, where we had all of those things.

3. Good luck, we had a minor one last night
in SW Missouri, it wasn't bad though. Stay safe, in Jan of 07 we had a doozy, we were without power for roughly ten days, and our Gov declared a state of emergency, and we had National Guard folks knocking on doors...when the National Guard asked us if we were okay, I said yeah, and I offered him some chili and cake....:)

5. No chili but I got the makings for a beef stew. I'm having an open house for my PAC on
Saturday and I hope everything is clear by then. The emergency generator that I have was the very last decision I made when I built this house. I almost didn't get it but it is worth it's weight in gold!

14. I still haven't gotten a generator yet, can't afford it
but I got 75 gallons of dirty water, for flushing, and I got 33 gallons of drinking water, lots of candles, batteries, food, the whole nine yards...

My wife was acting out her Little House on the Prairie fantasy during the ice storm(in Jan of 07) she was cooking up a storm. The hardest thing, was finding entertainment at night, during the day we had a ton of work to do(clearing trees) but at night...bleh, we just stared at each other, while the tree's outside were exploding.

8. I hope it doesn't come anyplace near NYC.
Please, please, please let the bad weather bypass NYC. I can't take any more weather-pain right now. :(

9. 60 degree rain coming from the south here in Chapel Hill. Weird. I'll take it over an ice storm.

10. You have scotch...you are well prepared I see!
That's pretty much all you need to get through an ice storm..that and staying off the road.

11. Oh, don't mention ice storms (shudder) . . .
this week is the one-year anniversary of the huge storm we had last year. I didn't have power for 4 days; some of my coworkers didn't have power for TWO WEEKS (and no, they don't live out in the middle of nowhere). The cold this winter seems especially hard to me, but I think it's just because I'm remembering how freakin' miserable it was sitting in the dark and cold for four nights. We had a little ice and snow yesterday in OKC, and it was so cold with the wind I just wanted to hide in a corner somewhere warm.

What are you knitting? I've been on a scarf kick, and as soon as I finish a small neck cowl I'm on to the Boston Terrier mittens on this page:

http://www.joridweb.com/butikk/shop.html

Have you joined Ravelry? It's a great resource.

Happy knitting, and I hope the storm's not too bad and the scotch is great! :bounce:

12. it was 60 today here in...
Maine!

We get the NH storm tomorrow night into Friday morning. I have a microbiology final Friday morning and do NOT want to drive hilly, curvy back roads on black ice. Teacher made it clear this morning that unless they cancel school the final is on, ice or no ice. Bastard.
