An execution by: dropping a bowling ball onto a flume, where it rolls down and knocks over a bowling pin, which pulls a rope that is attached to an iron sitting on the edge of a board, which then falls and flips a see-saw that turns on a fan that blows a model boat across a tub and knocks over a candle which lights a firecracker, blowing up and knocking over a domino chain that goes up an inclined board that has the last one fall off the edge, pulling a string and flipping a switch on a mixer, which has a string tied to the blades that tightens down on the trigger of a gun.
This would be entertaining to watch just before my execution.
It also has the added advantage of potentially failing easily.

I read in Harpers a few months ago, about a late-1800s research project in which the recently beheaded were 'interviewed'. They were tested by seeing how they responded to hearing their own name, and having objects pased in front of their line of sight, and watched as their eyes followed the objects. Some remained apparently functional, albeit without the ability to speak, for up to a minute.
