Help......do you tip carpet installers?
They've just installed carpeting in three rooms of my house and will be finished up in a short while. Do I tip them?

1. I always do....
I would if I could afford it. If not, don't worry about it.

6. Three guys.
My husband is at the ATM getting some cash for them now. They did a good job and worked really hard all day.

8. WOW all day, yeah $20 bucks a piece buys them dinner, good.
When I was making lots of money working sales management and marketing, we had a lot of stuff done to the house. And as I am now, these guys are poor, and the bottom of the rung. They work hard for the money.

4. I'd not. If we have construction workers at the house for a long time, I'll buy them
pizzas each Friday, but for a one-day job? Nah.

7. But the tip is the bribe to keep their friends from coming back and
trashing the house.

to come back and do jobs for me under the table for stuff that I hate doing myself. :hi:

12. Ah, now THAT is a factor that Mrs R understands much better than I do, and it
is indeed a valid reason to throw them a few bucks. She's REAL good about doing that, even though it's the case that men will do ANYTHING for her, tips or no, because of her looks and her accent, and the fact that (heterosexual) men are pigs, uniformally and universally.

11. I agree, $20 each is good
I think the last person like that I tipped were the guys who delivered my washer and I gave them $10 each (they were only there for 15 minutes).

13. You could just flash 'em

If I was laying carpet all day that would be the best tip evah! A few beers after the job always done it for me. :)

15. When I was 16-years-old
We painted the interior of a house. I was a painter's helper. When we finished the homeowner cracked open a 12-pack for my boss and I. It was very apparent that I was underage but they let me drink anyway! I always thought that was cool.
