1. Despite your loss, it's like you're still here somehow.
Amazing!

3. Just be glad you had it while you did.
I pay almost $90. And I don't even have a TV. It includes local phone, which is more like something I think I "have" to have than actually want. And that's not even unlimited faster-than lite service!

But where would I be without it?

I coulda got away with $35 for dial-up and paid for my own phone which would have been another $30.

4. damn, that's a rip off!
This thing I just signed up for is 17 pounds a month (about 25 - 30 dollars) for cable internet, no phone or tv needed. Now I feel like I'm getting a deal compared to what you have.

5. There ya go!
We only have two companies to choose from -- the first one took my account sign-up and didn't seem to know they didn't have service in my area yet.

So for me what I got is simply absolutely the best I can get!

I did the math with the gal on the phone when I was trying to figure my service out -- I'd pay the same amount of money if I DID have a TV!

7. weird
I only have one option if I want cable - I guess I have two more if I went for DSL, but I don't know why I'd do that. It would have only been slightly more money if I'd gone with cable as well, and maybe I should have - who knows. Lately, I've been way too busy to watch TV for more than a few hours a week, max, so it didn't seem like a big deal.

Now, of course I don't know what I'll actually end up paying. Being a foreigner who's recently immigrated to a country means that you get treated like crap - I wasn't allowed to sign up for service online, and had to pay a deposit to sign up over the phone.... we'll see if they still charge me the extra monthly cost that supposedly gets tacked onto the bill if you don't deal with everything like billing online (which I wanted to do).

6. No Cantenna? No Wi-Fi Dish?
If the coffee shop is just down the road... point a cantenna or manufactured wi-fi dish in that general direction and see what you can get :)

Mark.
