Random musing: My dog should not be a dog.

He's a very intelligent little Eskie who has a very high vocabulary (he knows the difference between "ball," "kong," "elephant," and many others.) But he's anxious and frustrated. We have to medicate him for anxiety, but I wonder if his frustrations stem from his inability to truly communicate with us. He squeaks and sighs an undulation of vocal noises, especially when he greets us.

I'm not nuts - he's still a dog, but he has a certain empathy and self awareness that I haven't seen in other dogs. I really feel for the little guy and I hope that at least we're making his doghood as easy as possible for him.

But I keep getting the feeling that he hates being a dog.

Oh well. My head is fried. Back to my work.

1. My girl Angel was like that.

She passed away last year but had arrived here pregnant. I have two of her pups that share her vocal peculiarities.

Larry & curly are her pups. (the light colored ones)
