MrLaraMN ran into a wall and "broke" his wrist.
(I "" the word broke, because this is his uneducated diagnosis.)

How sorry am I required to be? He was playing indoor soccer, and the wall "came up sooner than (he) thought it was going to".
I'm just having a really difficult time feeling sorry for him.

1. Depends on how bad it hurts...
if he thinks it's broken it must hurt pretty bad.

2. You should feel a little pity, but first, we don't know if it is really broken.
Second, that will teach him (ok, so it probably won't).

I always remember my mom getting on to my dad and brothers for their rough-housing! It was always "Someone is going to get hurt" and someone always did! Aaahhh, those were the days!!

4. He swears it's broken because he heard a "crunch"
Edited on Sat Dec-13-08 09:03 PM by LaraMN
when he hit the wall.
It's possible I suppose, but he convinces himself that he has every medical condition he sees a prescription drug ad for, so I'm a little iffy.

10. if he heard a crunch or pop then it's probably more likely a torn tendon in the wrist
Edited on Sat Dec-13-08 09:08 PM by Ava
i know this because i hurt myself all the time.. including once running into a wall and breaking my wrist. the only time i heard one of my injuries was when i torn a tendon and ligaments in my wrist. the doc told me that usually if you hear it like that, it'll be an injury to the tendon.

12. actually, it's more painful than a broken bone
but.. depending on how bad, it can heal faster.

oh, and .. that'll teach 'em! :P ;)

13. How does the wall look?
I would make him take long hard look for "crunches" or "cracks" in the wall. Most walls aren't hard enough to break human beings, unless they are brick walls. In George W. Bush's case, even the brick wall hasn't broken his hard head.

14. Well can he bend it?
If it is broken, he needs to get his butt to the doctor. Does he have a high tolerance for pain? Because I feel like if it is broken, his butt would already be there.

BUT, an elderly woman I know fell recently and was outside for a couple of hours before she was found. She did break her wrist and that is all she complained about. A couple of weeks went by before she complained about her back. Well she broke it in the fall also. So, I guess sometimes you just don't know!

7. It's the wall at the local middle school, so I don't even care.
And he says he can't get a cast, because it's his right wrist, and he needs to be able to use his mouse arm for work.
