68. Same as Ava
I have found the meaning of "home" here that I have been looking for all my life,
and feel very blessed.
Was born and raised and spent the first half of my life in Wash. State.
I knew and loved every foot of it , east and west, and quite suddenly 180 change to the SE, where I grew very solid roots.
Something very ancient in this land calls to something very old in me.
Constant deja vu here.

7. Another New Englander here
Edited on Sat Dec-13-08 08:56 PM by YankeyMCC
You know you're a New Englander if...

"Vacation" means going South to New York City for the weekend.

You measure distance in hours.

You know several people who have hit a deer more than once.

You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day and back again.

You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a
snowsuit.

Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled
with snow.

You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and
road construction.

You can identify a southern or eastern accent.

Down South to you means Philadelphia.

If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September through May, you
might live in New England

Your 4th of July picnic was moved indoors due to frost.

You have more miles on your snow blower than your car.

If your town has more bars than churches, you might live in New England.

You actually understand these jokes.

11. I've been in Southern cities twice when they were "dusted"
Edited on Sat Dec-13-08 09:18 PM by YankeyMCC
Biloxi, MS 1993 St Pat's Day - they got about 1.5 inches maybe 2 of very slushy snow. The newscasters were telling everyone to stay in their homes.

Newport News, VA - Got their first major snow storm December 1995 as we moved in...another panic situation.

To be fair they don't budget for such things, I mean who would think to keep a fleet of sand and salt trucks around in Biloxi, MS. :)

on edit: That was 1993 not 1193 - I'm not that old :)
