Can I start a petition to have DirecTV stop airing those IRRITATING "UPGRADE" COMMERCIALS???
Honestly, I can't scrub that song out of my head with a wire brush, and if I see that irritatingly untalented bimbette chewing on that gold brick again, I will have to send a very strongly-worded e-mail.

At least they stopped the "Saved By Zero" commercials. I guess DirecTV didn't think one year of Beyonce's bullshit shill of a song was enough.

Ugh.

1. I just finished my post, AND THEY SHOWED IT AGAIN!
I can't even escape it on the History channel.

ARGH!

2. I will be the first to sign.
I cannot change the channel fast enough when that commercial comes on.

Those Saved By Zero commercials pissed me off for two reasons: it was annoying AND it ruined a good Fixx song.

3. I wish they had a feature to block crappy commercials.
There are always a couple of commercials that could be blocked. Even if I had to pay 4 dollars a month, I would pay it. That would be a highly used feature.

5. Do I NOT like Comcast!!!
I had Time Warner in Texas. Not that they are pinnacles of virtue, but they were cheaper, had better service and more channels. :grr:

6. Well, unless I want to get a dish (which I don't), I don't have a choice.
We used to have two cable companies around here, but Comcast gobbled the other one up.

8. I know.
I don't want a dish either. Too far northwest for a good signal, not to mention the rain.

Oh well - they wii probably sucker me into the sports package next year for the NFL Network. I'm such a sucker.

7. I really have to cancel my DirectTV service.
I never watch it, and when I did watch it, there was some stupid chick on there doing commercials and shaking her shoulders.

9. A good idea to sell the dishes would be
If you had the service, you didn't have to watch their commercials. They might sell more dishes.

10. I'm kicking this thread.
Because Sundays are the worst for this god-awful crapfest of Updradiness.

This shit has played about 50 times today.

Please, stop the pain.

If they wanted to get people to talk in Guantanamo, they would play this shit over and over.

13. when I first saw that, I thought,
"Seriously? This is your plan?"

Their next ad should feature testimonials from people who saw "that irritatingly untalented bimbette chewing on that gold brick" and were actually led to buy whatever it is they're selling.

14. I would only bite the gold brick if I could block the commercial.
I wonder in this age of economic uncertainty the real cost-effectiveness to sacrificing such a valuable asset as a gold brick to the teeth of such an irritatingly untalented bimbette. They would make more money selling the brick than in new contracts from that shitty commercial.

:D

15. Yep, sure. Stop watching DirecTV.
There's this new service out there now called "The Telly" (available at thetelly.net). You get live UK TV to either your computer, or with the right hardware, your actual TV. They basically attach a Slingbox to a Freeview receiver in the UK, receiving UK digital terrestrial TV. It's then piped down a private internet connection to your computer or slingbox receiver your side. You get to watch UK TV, real, live, and no satellite dish in sight. Just need a nice fast internet connection.

Plus you don't get those annoying Upgrade commercials, especially if you stick to BBC 1 through 4 (worst you get is BBC promotions for future programmes or services).
