1. Ok ..here is this answer..
In the last few years, older citizens, 65 years and older, are wearing a very old type of clothing..

But it is new for older citizens...............ready?........blue jeans...

ok that may be the last one..

2. I don't recall a time when any of my 6 grandparents wasn't wearing them...

Three died in their 70s (in 1989, 1991 and 2005), one in her 80s (2006), one in his 90s (2004) and one lived to 101 (2007).

Then again...they were farm-dwellers. Denim is/was a working-fabric.

3. You are right...Denim is/was a work-fabiric. esp. rural/farms..
I suppose that I was referring to city/subruban types. Only recently have I seen 60 plussers wearing Denim at meetings, gatherings, and movies and the like.
