Get ready Classic Car lovers, it's time to rev up your engines and cruise on down to Woodward Ave. in the Motor City. The name of the event is "Dream Cruise 2003" and it takes place next Saturday on the stretch of Woodward between Detroit and Pontiac, MI. On the official day of the cruise, there will be over 1.5 million spectators watching over 30,000 classic cars turn Woodward Ave. into a 16 mile scene right out of "American Grafitti". The Pre-Cruise hype is in full swing, and the local cruisers will jam the Avenue every night from now until the official Cruise "Day". Like all good things in life, sometimes the anticipation of the event is almost as good as the event itself! Next Saturday, the local cruisers will be joined by cruisers from nearly every state in the union, as well as, several foreign countries. They'll fill Woodward with classics, antiques, muscle cars, chrome, hot rods, horsepower, concepts, hybrids, hand-builts, rarities, ultra-rarities, one-of-a-kinds, and what-the-hell-is-that?'s. I've even seen a garbage truck converted into a luxury limosine! The Cruise shows off Detroit at it's finest with this celebration of the American automobile, the people that built those cars, and the city those cars built. So fellas, grease up your duck "tails", and ladies, break out the poodle skirts, because it's time to party MOTOWN STYLE! And if you'd be so kind as to simply shrug your shoulders when the Royal Oak Police ask who's been doing 'burn-outs' in front of Duggans!
