Or are they people you may have heard of, or people whose family you are aware of but whom you've never met?

2. JVS knows Jim from sitting one row in front of him in home room in 7th grade.

But actually it works out kind of nicely. It's like being able to talk to the people back home but instead of bumping into them at the store, you bump into them when commenting on stuff.

3. I saw a cnet-type article saying that facebook and the like were making
reunions obsolete and less fun, because everyone already knows what each other is up to.

I don't know how FB handles the screwing of long lost crushes

10. That'd be weird, eh?
I guess then I'd find out whether they're still not someone I want to correspond with!

5. Most are friends of my friends who I've only met once or twice
Now that I have DUers on my page, I think some suggestions are people from DU but I'm not sure.

7. I just recently got on there.
Well, more accurately, I got a new password since I totally forgot my old one. Within the day, my ex found me. Heh.

9. Meh
I don't mind. He was my first real boyfriend and we lost our virginity together. His mom and mine are still in touch so I get updates periodically about him. It was the first contact I've had with him in over 15 years though.

a few are what my friend calls "imaginary friends" - people you know from online but have not met yet.
