WORST Christmas movie ever?
I would have to say "White Christmas"-they put on a "show" to save their former Colonel's inn in Vermont

90 minutes to set up one song and obviously shot on a sound stage (so Bing could still play golf I am sure)

29. Was it?
I know there were two with that song, Holiday Inn and White Christmas. Holiday Inn was the first and when the song proved a hit they made White Christmas to cash in on it. I seem to remember that the Colonel's inn story was the Holiday Inn.

55. Holiday Inn was with Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby...
Kind of similar, but without the war story.

Both movie plots were basically designed to show off the singing and dancing talents of the cast. A little on the fluffy side to be sure; but still entertaining.

38. They "sort of" did...it was called "It Runs In The Family"
...also "My Summer Story"...it was based, once again, on Jean Shepherd's characters and stories, and was directed by Bob Clark, director of the original "Christmas Story." It was absolutely unwatchable, one of the worst pieces of tripe I've seen in many a moon.

Very limited release in theaters, almost straight to cable (I believe I saw it on Showtime).

:toast:

My Summer Story (1994)

Runtime: 1 hr 49 mins

Genre: Comedies

Synopsis: This sequel to the wildly successful "A Christmas Story" traces Ralphie's summer transition from boyhood to young adulthood, aided by his eccentric family. Based on the novels by Jean Shepherd.

Starring: Charles Grodin, Kieran Culkin, Mary Steenburgen

Director: Bob Clark
