I am praying for the sweet release of death.
I have the flu virus from Hell. My head has finally cleared up enough and the room is not spinning as badly so I decided to check my eamil and come to DU to beg for pity. Please give generously.

I'm still recovering from the "cold" I had, which necessitated antibiotics.

10. How much pity do you need? I'll try to cover it. I'm recovering from some kind
of bug myself. I keep thinking that I feel almost human in the morning, but I sure start to fade in the afternoons.

11. So, is your eamil okay?
so I decided to check my eamil

What's an eamil? Is that a New England thing? A cross between an emu and a camel, perhaps? :-)

Your Hawaiian Phrase of the Day is: malama pono (take care of yourself).

21. Now that's a nasty case of the flu.
So far, I've been able to get myself to the bathroom. My husband has been great about it, though. I never get the flu or a cold so it really threw him. He's been housecleaning and even feeding the cats! He gets kudos from me for doing all that. I've done alot of stupid things in my life, but I married the right guy.

22. that's good to hear
that he is being a sweetie. I ws alone when I came down with it, I work in a different city than where I live, so I have a small travel trailer where I stay while I work. The bathroom in the trailer is right next to the bed, and when it first hit, I could not make it from the bed to the bathroom before I threw up. It was really bad :(

And to add insult to injury, I absoulutely had to be at work the next day, there was no way around it. I was one miserable pup :(

26. just saw this, you are now in the 'wish I had died 'stage of flu
this also applies to intestinal virus infections and food poisoning

first you think you are going to die
then you wish you had.

Hope you feel better very soon.

27. you'll beat it...and i know of what you speak
reminds me of my own 'pray for death' moment of sickness: i was a substitute teacher and there was a horrible stomach virus spreading around the school (in fact, they closed the school for a couple of days because there were that many students and teachers absent)...

for three days, i did nothing but vomit an exponential proportion of what i actually ate, and crapped water (and i mean i crapped perfectly clear, odorless water)...

as if that wasn't enough, they gave me antibiotics to fight it, and while i beat the virus, all my time on the toilet gave me hemorrhoids and a bad side reaction to the antibiotics gave me a case of jock itch that was even more agonizing than the virus...all-in-all i was messed up for another three weeks....

29. I'm one of those people who got the flu last year
even though I had gotten a flu shot. Nyquil is your friend. Make sure you drink fluids (hot tea is nice) and eat something. You won't feel like doing either. Sending lots of warm hugs your way. But you will survive.

30. Thank you, mykpart....
I'm on day four now, so the little men in my head aren't banging away with their hammers anymore, though my stomach is still unsettled and my ribs hurt when I laugh. I think I'll take you up on the Nyquil. There's nothing worse than being sick and awake late at night. Alone. In the dark.
