My roommate last year was really into EverCrack, and he would usually play that rather than go out and socialize. The only times he left the room really were to eat and for classes. On the weekend, if you wanted him to go out and do something (as opposed to staying in and playing EverQuest) you actually had to make a case and argue it.

8. Sure, there are people like that in almost every area of life.

If someone with an addictive enough personality gets heavily into EQ, it could very well disrupt their lives as badly as any other type of drug. Myself, I admit I spend a LOT of time on that game, but I also have other people and interests in my life that make me happy. It's all in how you approach it, I suppose.

You may laugh, but I have a friend (different from the EverQuest guy) who, the way he drinks Pepsi, you would think it was cocaine or crack...

He is the only person who I have to cut off when he comes to visit, because if I let him have soda he will clean me out every time...
