How's them drums and bass?

5. drums are good, bass - well, I did play it for a while

but I had to put taped notes on the frets, since I mostly play bass by ear, and the people I was playing with were doing covers only. I told them it would be easier if I played keyboard instead! (since I had piano lessons for years...)


I still need to find more folks to play with- my drumming has improved a lot after 3-4 years of lessons.

That is a huge thing! I hope you got to play keyboard. I love to keyboard with bands, though I haven't done it for decades. And good job on the drumming.

What's new here is a lot of snow, too many parties (but with all great people), two great cats, not enough home cooking (I'm working on that - I bought a lot of great food today, just need to cook it), some sorrow, some happiness. I like my friends. I'm thinking I might spend my sabbatical next year generally screwing off during the day, with occasional roller skating lessons during the day, and roller skating at night, trying to nail a certain skill-set that seems essential in our post-apocalyptic, zombified age (roller-skating backward while loading shotgun to blow zombies' heads off seems an essential skill.

Wait, is that this year's X-mas card? :rofl: My son is sort of interested in the zombie thing - he's at that age, I think.



I just baked a bunch of quick breads for X-mas gifts for friends and colleagues, and now I have a turkey breast in the oven. It's been very rainy here, inbetween bouts of cold and some snow. Kind of a weird December for us here, usually it doesn't get really cold until after Christmas....
