And my question is this
Why are we rooting for Bond?
He's a cold blooded assassin with no remorse
He's worse than Jack Bauer
He's everything the Government wanted Bourne to be, with the soul of everyone Bourne was against

I hated that version of Bond and I view Craig as a Bond for the Bush era. Dumb but with lots of brute force and gadgets.

5. What I hate about the new Bonds is that they took all the camp factor out of it. |
|
That's part of what made the Bond movies so enjoyable from the beginning. Now that that is gone and replaced with this cold variation of everything Bond stands for... it kind of sucks.

6. That's the whole point of the story. |
|
It is about duty, the necessity to put the greater need before ones own personal morality and the willingness to sacrifice in order to do it. It is also a character study of the kind of person who can do that job. Anyway, how do you know if he has no remorse? The whole point of his outlook is that duty matters and not personal morality. Maybe he has remorse by ignores it. Maybe he discarded it as a luxury he cannot afford. His victims are just as dead regardless of his personal feelings on the matter.
I thought the campyness of the Roger Moore films was the low-point of the franchise.

The movies prettied him up and made him "nice".
