For the last 3 years at my workplace, my supervisor has made the habit of giving everyone under her pervue a small gift with a holiday card. Usually a small box of nice chocolates, a $10 gift card, something along those lines. I have no idea if this was funded out of her pocket or by the company. Just sort of a "thank you for making your deadlines and not mounting an armed rebellion" thing.
Well, I just got mine for this year, and the card contains 3 scratch-off lottery tickets! One $2 ticket and 2 $1 ones! I view it as more funny than anything. I realize that, working at a catalog company, just having a job still is gift enough.
Now the moral question: if I win anything, am I ethically bound to share it with my supervisor?
What, if anything, did you get from your boss this year?
