I don't remember the conversion of MBs / Gigs to minutes of music though

As a general rule you get about 250 songs for 1 GB, but that's on average.

6. My old 4gb iPod would usually hold a few hundred. Grayscalz sounds close to right.
It varies depending on the length of the song and the quality at which it is encoded.
