The new Jeff Beck album is SO GOOD he should have billed himself as Jeff FUCKING Beck.
Much, MUCH better than his previous, recent live albums. 70 minutes of paint-peeling fun.

1. Seen him for the first time a few years ago
The guy is unreal. And I see that Tal Wilkenfeld is on this one. She is fucking amazing on bass.

2. Yes, and Vinnie Colaiuta on drums...
...as a Zappa fan, that's another plus.

Jeff Beck – guitar, Tal Wilkenfeld – bass, Vinnie Colaiuta – drums, Jason Rebello – keyboards

The new CD is not great because it's Beck...it's great because it's an amazing Beck performance.

4. My first guitar hero.
And rightly so.

I don't own Blow by blow (well, I did once, lost it somewhere..) because I always stand up
and defend Wired against the 'One Jeff Beck LP-owning-wonders' who have only heard, or heard of,
Blow by Blow. BbB just doesn't have the right feel. Not frantic enough or something.

I'm rambling...

Thanks for the heads up. Something will be coming off my ipod to make way.

5. I like the nod to Mahavishnu..."Eternity's Breath".
When Beck is on, he destroys all others.

And Tal Wilkenfeld....fuggedaboutit...a little hottie who plays her ass off.

6. Thanks! I'll Be Picking That Up Tomorrow
He's one of my all-time favorites and that little girl rocks the bass. They do a couple of songs on the second Crossroads DVD.

B-)

7. Yup. I got that album when it came out and I love it!
Making it even better is that many of the songs on it are songs he played when I went to see him a few years ago so it brought to life memories of a great show.
