1. Ugh.
I hate the fucking Yankees.
Well the more stars they put on their team the worse they seem to be. Maybe they will finish fourth this year.

For just a minute there I thought they (the yankees) might try and rebuild with homegrown talent. That notion lasted about .02 seconds.

Edited for clairity

5. 'The Yankees have spent more than $400 million in salary in the last month
with $161 million going to left-handed pitcher CC Sabathia in a seven-year deal and $82.5 million on right-hander A.J. Burnett for five years."

What would Connie Mack say?

The $100,000 infield was a vaunted set of infielders who played for the Philadelphia Athletics in the Dead ball era, at a time when the team was winning pennants.

9. Learning doesn't enter the equation
Remember, this is the guy who hired Billy Martin, fired him, hired him again and fired him again.

It's a sickness with the SFEE.

They're actually reducing payroll this year. Giambi ($23.4 million in 2008); Abreu ($16 million); Pettitte ($16 million); Mussina ($11 million); Carl Pavano ($11 million); Farnsworth ($6 million) and LaTroy Hawkins ($4 million) are all gone.

That's $87 million, and Sabathia, Burnett and Teixeira only cost them $60 million or so per year.

Hate them all you want, but the Yankees are economizing. HAH.

14. They're probably "redmailing" Mayor-for-Life Bloomberg
remember, he grew up in Lynn, Mass., with all that that implies in terms of team loyalty.

If that were to become widely known, Bloomie'd be screwn bigtime.

10. I really dont know what to say, as a Yankee fan
we now have the top 4 highest players in MLB. Good news is that our payroll will drop in 2009 because Giambino, Pettitte and Moose will be gone or getting paid less.

We better win the damn WS before Obamas 1st term is over. Thats all i can say.
