There was a swift water rescue in my county today....

Due to a huge water main break...I've not quite seen anything like this...Thank goodness nobody was hurt but the video is AMAZING.
I also heard some of the 911 calls...Some terrified people. I don't blame them. Imagine driving down a normal road and seeing a wall of water come rushing at you when you least expect it.. :wow:

1. I didn't even think to tell you.....

I figured you already knew that this morning.

I watched the whole damned thing LIVE. They started the "Breaking News" story by saying that a river rose. I had no idea what river they were referring to, but I assumed it to be true, since that's damned well what it looked like. Holy shit.

They showed the heli trying to drop the cage down to the people to climb on, and the wind was so strong that they had the hardest time leveling it to the stranded people. You could see people hanging their arms outside their cars to try and catch it - but the thing would slam into their cars. What a mess.

Glad everybody made it through okay. They'll never forget it.

2. I only first heard about it this afternoon

When someone sent an email out about the local schools closing early because of it. Didn't see the full video till a little while ago.
All I can say, it looks like my tax dollars are being put to good use!
