How many blades become too many on a razor? (the Fusion has 5 blades)

3. I recently ran out of my 5 blade cartridges and had to go back to 3

for a short period. Felt like a damn caveman shaving with a sharp rock.

5. I remember how smooth the Mach 3 used to be.

Then I switched to Fusion, and now Mach 3 just doesn't get the job done.

I also have a 4 blade from Schick (whatever it is called). It does a nice job.
