I just got back from a few days stay in the hospital after having my third heart attack -- the last two were three months apart. I developed fluid on my lungs in the wee hours of the 20th, called 911, and had an ambulance arrive about 30-40 minutes later.
They drove me out of the woods where I live some 4.4 miles from the nearest paved road, to a semi-major intersection that could be located by the Med-Evac helicopter. It was on the ground awaiting our arrival.
I tried to communicate to them that I usually went to the hospital Fayetteville, AR, but wound up being taken to Branson, MO to Skaggs Community Hospital. The cardiologist I saw there happened to be the one I had visited a week or so earlier at his office in Branson, so he was roughly familiar with my case.
I got to watch a lot of the Food Network (got no TV at home) and chat with the nurses and aides.
I passed my stress test with flying colors, but learned that I am a prime candidate for a pacemaker, or defibrillator, as they term it. Installation is scheduled for January 14.
The good news is that I'm home for the holiday. The bad news is that I'm exhausted.
Hope your holiday is the best.
Soon to be,
