Who else hated biology class?
Dissecting frogs was bad enough, but the teacher brought out sections of cow lungs...

One kid used a straw and blew air into the lungs, popping the air sacs within.

and, no, that kid was not me.

1. Loved biology, but we did't do any dissection
The lab instructor was very nice and taught us to do experiments, even with worms, without harming anyone (although we did scare the worms a bit).

Anatomy was all about dissection though. Sheep's pluck. Pig's heart. Cow's eyeball. Worst of all was the gigantic preggers rat and her little fetuses. :puke: :puke: :puke:

What bothered the most me was it was all unecessary. There are plastic organs that give you as much a sense of the 3-dness and texture as pickeled-in-formaldehyde once living organs. With more accurate color. It's not like we were training to be surgeons, for criminies sake.

2. I'm a biologist so.....no.:)
My AP biology class spent 6 weeks doing dissections of dogfish/fetal pigs...I chose the dogfish. I found it interesting, if a bit ummm messy at times. I was fascinated by the fragility of the spinal cord once it was removed from the backbone.
I'll stop now before I REALLY gross you out, HT...:)

3. I suspect your husband doesn't offer you much in the way of alcoholic beverages after an argument...

4. I had Biology in the 9th grade right after lunch. --
I don't remember dissecting anything.

I just remember a little old man with a monotone voice reading straight from the book :boring:

5. We had "Sex Week!"
If it was against your religion to learn where babies come from, you could stay home without being marked absent.

6. I thought it was interesting.
I especially loved the section on evolution. There was this one girl I couldn't stand, Sarah S., and she was a holier-than-thou Xtian type. During the evolution info., she had a look on her face like she was sucking lemons.
