DU has a really good policy on that IMO, though--the OP likely asks a question in good faith, and people answer in good faith (or in good humor), but a reader might construe such postings as legitimate medical advice, thereby risking personal harm and potentially exposing DU to liability. Ergo, solicitations for medical advice are locked.

All the same, I'd advise those close to you to stock up on silver bullets.
