3. Bubba shot the jukebox. Last night.

Said it played a sad song, he didn't like. Went to his truck and got a .45.

Reckless discharge of a gun, that's what the officers' is claimin'. Bubba hollered out "Reckless Hell, I hit just where I was aimin'!"

He could not tell right from wrong through the teardrops in his eyes. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, it was a justifiable homocide.

He was brilliant for a few years. The Elvis of country, given how much he raised and changed the standards of the industry in the early nineties.

Too bad the Nashville music executives regained control. My favorite line about country music is from Ray Wylie Hubbard's "Conversation with the Devil," about a dream of going to Hell, and having a back and forth conversation with the Devil. The singer is asking the Devil about whose going to Heaven. "What you won't find up in Heaven are christian coalition right wing conservatives, Country program directors and Nashville record executives."
The singer's response: "Now I said I've made some mistakes, but I'm not as bad as those guys..."
