4. How about the Belgian band, Hooverphonic?
Closer in sound to Portishead than Massive Attack, but close enough, not to mention awesome.

8. My brother processed their visa applications to the US.
He was living in Brussels around the time their first couple albums came out, and working at the US Embassy/Consulate during the summers. He recognized their names from the local entertainment media.

I only have their first album, but I like it a lot. I should look up some of their other stuff.
