Hey Guys! Guys! I have a car! Signed by Paul Newman and Ed Harris!
It's so funny - I went to pick up my "pimpmobile" this morning and while giving it a test drive noticed that there were a couple of signatures on the glove compartment door. I thought maybe the mechanic signed his work but my son in the passenger seat started looking closely at the scribbles. He made out "Ed Harris" by the time we'd parked back at the mechanic. He left the car and I took a close look... could that freaking be "Paul Newman"? It was indeed. Long story short, it turns out that the car was Newman's when he made the movie "Empire Falls" here in Maine, and he and Ed Harris signed the car to thank the old dude who loaned it to them.

The car is a PIECE OF SHIT but every time I slide in the driver's seat I look over and see the signatures and I feel LUCKY!

Happy Friday Night! How are you? I'm moving furniture tomorrow so am relaxing after a day of packing. Can somebody pour me a beverage? :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

P.S. My son says that since the car is signed I must now call it the Pimpmobile Elite. :eyes:

2. You should do something to protect those autographs.
So, what kind of car is it?

Car = Freedom! :woohoo:

5. Well, (blush)
I'm not calling it a pimpmobile for nothing. It's a 1992 Lincoln Continental Exec - cheap as dirt and since I really drive only to the grocery store or the kids' schools and back, the gas mileage isn't a huge issue. We haven't got a dime so this was my stop-gap measure until I get a job and can afford something *ahem* newer.

But it drives, and I haven't had a vehicle for three months... three hellish months! :woohoo:

6. Sweet! A sofa on wheels!
And, hey, my car's a 1994 and I've been gainfully employed for lo these many years. I guess there are more important things.

3 months is too long without a car.

9. Yeah, that's exactly what it is!
My last car was a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville but I like the feeling I get from the Lincoln. I drive a car until it won't drive no more and hopefully I'll get a couple years out of this one.

You notice I've been depressed lately? It's not just because I'm newly single... it's also because I have been grounded. Major suckitude.

My oldest son always like the car but now my oh so elegant 17 year old daughter wants me to give it to her. Uh, NO. I already have fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror! :toast: :hi:

19. who knows?
I know who knows - someone that deals in that kind of thing.... or ebay. I find the association between a Paul Newman autograph and a car to be intriguing, at least, though of no value to me personally.

23. Wow! You need to go back to the original owner and document
the story for provenance the put it up on Ebay with a ridiculous starting bid and see what happens. Empire Falls was his last live action film. He only did voice for animated films after that. You have a great piece of film memorabilia there.
