The gas grill fired up just fine and I've got some Cola Can chicken and baked potatoes cooking up! Now that's what I call January food! :-)

1. We're having a January BBQ today, too! It's 78F with sunshine and a light breeze.
Wish you were here!

6. We had a brisket, smoked pork shoulder and sausages. We were
celebrating my grandson's second birthday and the whole family came out to my son's house. It was a real treat to sit outside in the sunshine on a January day and we took advantage of it. The high tomorrow is expected to be 45, which is not that bad, but not as nice as today.

3. Every weekend I tell myself
that I'm going to shovel a path from my patio door to my grill, but some storm seems to blow through and thwart my efforts. Maybe next weekend . . . or am I just a procrastinator.

It's 20 F here right now, winds at 20 mpg . . . grrrrr

I have no intention nor any inclination to shuffle between my house and the grill this evening.

Wishing you grilling success.

4. So far so good. Usually, I'm shoveling a path to the grill, but since that freak rain storm we had,
the grill was pretty clear. I really slacked off on my grilling this year, so I have to make up for it with more winter grilling. My wife said that I lost my grilling crown because I hardly grilled this year, I had to defend my honor! :-)

5. Used to do that all the time when the grill was on the back deck!
Mainly because I can't bear the taste of frying-pan hamburgers. Unfortunately, at our new-to-us house, our grill is in the driveway, by the garage (we took the highly unsafe deck down over the summer) and we don't have a floodlight, so it's impossible to see how the cooking is going. Nor do we have a back door (temporary situation). So if I want to grill, I have to go out the front door and allllll the way down the driveway (it's long, believe me) AND take a flashlight. Can't go inside to warm up unless I walk allllll the way back up the driveway. Can't leave the meat unattended for that long.

So. No grilling this winter. :( Maybe next winter, when we have more renovations done.

Enjoy your nosh! :hi:
