2. I've been stepping over it for months. It is right in the middle of my dining room. Something
made me plug it in.

3. Six months?
:scared:

I sweep almost every day and I still get piles of crumbs and cat hair ... Luckily, we have hardwood floors/tile, so it's fairly easy to clean.

4. I have cats too. The dust bunnies were really big. But it is only me who lives
in this apartment so I don't have a whole family of traffic bringing dust in from the outside. Still..some of those dust bunnies could be called dust-zillas. I'll have to dust the other half of the apartment on my next day off.

6. I know. For the last 3 month I have been going into avoidance behaviours and having daydreams
about hiring Molly Maids. Funny thing is I'm really proud that I finally vacuumed. I think it is the longest I have gone without vacuuming in my life.

7. 6 months?
I vaccume at least once a week and it's still a mess. I hate carpets.

8. I have hardwood floor. Seems all the dust and cat hair rolls under the furniture and stays
away from high traffic areas. You wouldn't know it had been 6 months unless you looked behind doors, in corners and under the sofa. I have been at it with a broom a few times. But this was the first time for the vacuume since I moved in in July.

21. My kinda person....but, here's the trick:
You plug in a square floor fan about once a week in each room...just rotate them per room, for about 30 minutes.
Leave room.
Return, unplug fan.
No dust will be visible.
every 6-9 months, stick that long tube that comes with the vacuum cleaner under the couch and furniture, and suck up anything there.

Taaaaaaaaaa Daaaaa.
:D

11. I don't have the money for a maid. I was planning on saving for a one day
thing but figured I was just being really lazy. Plus I felt like cleaning for her.

14. I salmon. I used to have a fridge magnet on my door that said "you can look at the dust
but please don't write in it". LOL! The store where I work has a plaque that says the same thing. I think I need it. As a reminder to laugh at myself.

16. Remember the wisdom of the immortal Quentin Crisp.
The very humorous author of "The Naked Civil Servant" once said, "Never dust! After the first year or two you can't tell the difference."

20. are you my ex-wife?
about 6 months after our divorce was final (and therefore 18 months after she filed for divorce) she called me up and wanted to borrow my vacuum so she could vacuum her apartment for an upcoming date... I think it was about 9 months after she moved into the apartment. I know she did not borrow a vacuum from anybody before that, either.

And, she had a cat.

24. well
I think that was the first time she actually had used a vacuum in her life... she certainly did very little in the way of housework while we were married as well.

26. true
but, it was tough at the time working 70-80 hours a week and doing almost all the housework (she'd feed the cat & dog, though I'd walk the dog & clean the litterbox and do all the other housework), while she worked only a part-time job.

I guess it's partly my fault because she said she was high maintenance when we first met...

27. But you fell in love and got married. Nobody's perfect. Some are less perfect than
others. Sounds like you had a good relationship after the divorce and that is nice too. Now you know what to look for in a relationship...someone who isn't going to put all responsibility onto your shoulders.

we had a good relationship before we got married - the marriage sucked, but we were ok through the divorce process and the next year afterwards (1999-2001 or so), and then it was like she dropped off the face of the earth.

29. She probably "cleaned up her act". I know when I lived with roomates I was
alot tidier than I am now. I used to clean every few weeks. Anyway... I'm half done my vacuuming. The rest of it will have to wait until I get another day off.
