1. I love Firefox, but also use Safari and Sea Monkey
Sea Monkey replaced Netscape and handles my mail accounts.

Safari is nice, it opens pdfs in the browser instead of downloading and opening in Acrobat, but it's kinda slow.

But Firefox rocks!!!

Supposedly safer than the rest for popups and for security issues, it seems fast, I like it best.

NEVER do I use Explorer....nope...

2. Firefox
I only use IE when I have no other choice when some sites only work with that. Otherwise I also use Safari.

I'm coming across more and more sites where it no longer works properly. So one by one, I keep moving bookmarks over to Firefox. :(

9. Back to IE.
I found that I just don't care what browser I'm using as long as it gets me where I want to go. I had Firefox for a long time on my old PC but I never bothered to change with the new one. I notice no real difference.

12. If it works, it works...
and IE now has most of what most people need, and can be made very secure. I think it's faster at page loading than anything but Opera, and on some sites even faster than Opera.

10. Opera, since version 3.51
or about 8-9 years now. Firefox copied everything from them. The only difference was they made theirs open source (as if I care.) :P

11. You too? I've been with Opera for at least as long, and...
see no reason to change.

Firefox has a few cool extensions that I sometimes use and there are some sites Opera won't display correctly, but Opera's still the fastest loading and most secure browser out there. And it doesn't need extensions for any of the basics.

And, yes, most of what's good about all other browsers was started with Opera.

24. It's always cool to find long-time Opera users
:D

I believe I used Netscape before Opera. However, when Netscape "upgraded" their better browser to a POS (4.76 I believe) I switched to Opera, even though I had to (horror of horrors!) buy it. Interesting how Opera is the browser of choice for various phone carriers and the wii ;)

I'm not a gadget kind of guy. I don't use widgets, I pretty much use most of the standard settings Opera is set to (minus a few toolbars and with the woodworks skin I like.) I also keep over a hundred tabbed windows open at once. Not that I am looking at them all, but do refer to them some. The fact that I can shut Opera down and reopen it to all those same tabs is a major plus for me. And why I was majorly turned off by Firefox when I attempted to try it out. Never, ever, shut down all my tabbed windows and not reopen them in the next session. What's so hard about programming that right out of the box? ;)

28. I never thought about how many open windows I have, but...
just now counted 97. And, yeah, they come back up every time.

I like the keyboard commnds, too, even though they recently changed them and screwed me up for a while.

(Once, back around v4.x or so, I managed to open EVERY bookmark with one regrettable keystroke-- and an amazing acid trip of thousands of windows opening went on for a while.)

32. The ONE time I accidentally did that, too
I managed to shut it down before it had the chance to open thousands of bookmarks :o
I'll bet that was some experience for you when it happened. Too bad you couldn't have "captured" the action as it tried. Did it lock up your computer?

At least now, it will pop up a window asking you if you're sure you want to do that and just how many new windows it's going to open in the process ;)

13. I often wonder about polls like this
hehe :P

The results seem statistically bad. Of course, that is only in my head.

I wonder if the reason the top candidate usually loses is because only those who are being different are the ones who vote. Kind of like the polls that show DUer's IQs are in the top 1% of civilization :D

15. Other: Camino
I used Firefox till it started freaking out (around version 3.0, IIRC)--a DUer recommended Camino, which works great on my Mac. Unfortunately I still have to use Safari for some sites that won't work properly on Camino. :(

16. Firefox primary, but I have to use them all since I design web sites...
...I had a site that I put together recently that looked great in Firefox and IE 7 but just fell apart in IE 6. It took three days of looking for hacks on the Web before I was able to add them in and get it working properly.

If there are any Web Designers reading this who have a similar need, there is a free program called "Multiple IE" (http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE) that lets you install IE 3 through 6.

I've stopped testing in anything lower than IE 6. At some point you need to define the audience and cut loose the stragglers.

27. That's odd-- the password-saving Wand has been around...
since like forever and I use it all the time. Next best thing to RoboForm.

Normally, a box pops up asking you if you want to save the password and other info, and there are other ways to do it. Check your security settings to see if you have this ability blocked. The Help files may be of some help if that doesn't work, or the forums.

21. I started with Chrome as soon as I heard from about it
love it, after a few years of Firefox

I especially like when I open a new tab, it gives me thrumbnails of my most often accessed pages and a list of my most recent bookmarks.

It's not a system hog either.

I've never quite understood Google's market strategy, but so far, they've been successful while making the tubes a better place. I pretty much like everything they do.

Is that wrong?

31. I sometimes use Chrome and Firefox, but they frustrate me.
I can never get the Favorites/Bookmarks to work the way they do in IE. I even downloaded a Firefox add-on that is supposed to mimic IE, but in order for the Favorites star to appear, you have to open a second tab.

I have to click too many times to find my bookmarks in the format I like them.

33. Mainly Firefox cos that's what's with Ubuntu and Konqueror doesn't do it for me.
Though yesterday I came across an Internet Explorer only site, which is a bummer if you're running Linux.

Though a quick Google for Internet Explorer and Ubuntu revealed a solution, involving some Wine and some extra editing and voila! I now have Internet Explorer 6 working on Linux.

And that Internet Explorer only site? AT&T's order page. :(

(I'm shopping around for phone/tv/internet access and seeing where the best deal is right now).

Mark.

No, I don't love it, per se, but at least it is not IE. I miss Netscape. Sea Monkey is nice, but it doesn't let you add as many great add-ons as Firefox. I'm still working on it though. So, later down the road, my vote may change to other; Sea Monkey.
