All these years I thought vodka kicked my ass yet...

I drank many vodka tonics on new year's eve and then again last night. I went to a friend's birthday party which had a do-it-yourself martini bar which was cool...and I'm pretty sure if one person at the party had a cold sore we are all getting it because everyone was sampling everyone else's concoctions.

But after both days of way too much vodka I woke up without a shred of a hangover. I used to think vodka was involved in all of my bad drinking incidents but I'm realizing it's now the mixing of vodka, beer, SoCo, Jager, etc...that caused me all that trouble. So I'm really thinking that vodka may be my new go-to drink because I'm loving how I'm feeling today! Plus vodka tonics are yummy!

I can drink a lot of vodka and sodas and feel pretty good the next day.

It's not the alcohol that makes you feel bad later. It's the other additives in drinks like whiskey, Jager etc. that give you a hangover. If you drink vodka and nothing else, you won't get any additives because vodka is basically pure alcohol and water. Stick with the vodka and you'll feel better later.

Alternatively, gin won't mess you up so much either. I try to limit myself to those two things when I drink, which isn't often. I call it the "in the clear policy".

5. Vodka does weird things to me.

It gets me drunk in a really strange way that other drinks don't do. I often don't think I'm that drunk on it, but afterwards I'll realise I was totally out of it and did loads of fucked up shit. My only blackout ever was from vodka. And yes, it doesn't give me a hangover as such, but makes me feel quite strange the next day...

6. I find that hard alcohol gives me a different buzz than beer or wine

I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing but it's a definitely different feeling than a beer buzz, a wine buzz just makes me sleepy

you won't catch me drinking stuff from a plastic jug. I usually have some Grey Goose on hand for drinking straight up and I like Ketel One for mixing purposes
