and some real assholes who are intelligent but not necessarily politically empathetic

like liberal versions of rove etc. do what you have to to win and cut anyone along the way that doesn't benefit your need to win.

Sometimes it is an emotional reaction to some information and the person gets caught up in it without thinking it through using logic.
