I know I'm not supposed to be bringing this into the lounge.

But, holy hell, the Israel/Palestine situation is messing with my head. And making me want to cry.

1. Me too.
It's difficult to not have it weigh on you when it's personal for you for one reason or another.

2. You want a real mindfuck?
How about knowing that A) you have relatives who might be caught in the crossfire.
B) You have relatives that MAY be participating in the military action
C) You have palestinian friends that although they live in Israel may also be affected.
I try not to watch the news about it. Too aggravating/depressing

4. Yeah, I know.

I have a friend who lives in Israel who's joining the army next year. It's pretty depressing to think about.

3. You're not alone, AspieGrrl.

I was just a little older than you when Bush Sr invaded Iraq. I was in a play in university and the entire cast huddled in a booth at one of the local eateries to watch CNN's coverage of the attack. There were protests going on all over the place, screaming and hollering and breaking things and nobody knew what side anyone was on and it was SCARY. I think that show ended up being as tight as it was because we experienced that together.

Lean on your friends, hon. Here is good, but if you have sympathetic friends IRL that can huddle together and talk about it, all the better.

I'm 37 now. Wars still make me feel sad and messed up. But you know what? I would feel worse if wars didn't make me feel sad and messed up.

7. Yes you should.
Everyone should be concerned with what is happening to other human beings regardless of where they are. Simple as that.

I think we all feel this way at times.
"I am tired of all the pain in the world, its like pieces of glass in my head, all the time."
The Green Mile.

I find comfort in the sentiment. "We Shall Overcome."

9. It's people behaving stupidly and putting the lives of their loved ones at risk.
It's a mindfuck no matter how you look at it.

Neither does a "honey trap". Don't worry.
