I posted on here the other day asking if anyone here has set up a treadmill desk yet and got one response... so I thought I'd share this with the you guys... the new hot trend that's sweeping the web -- haha, well, not really, but it seemed like a pretty good idea when I ran across it. The whole idea is that you can work and walk at the same time -- you walk really slowly, no more than 1 mph, and your general overall higher level of activity means greater fitness. Anyway you can read more about it (lots of articles) here:
http://www.treadmill-desk.com/So, I got a treadmill yesterday and I set up a "rough draft" of my new workspace, which I am posting from right now:
Obviously, the computer / monitor is a bit too far away for now. I have an "air desk" on order -- but we'll see, I may wind up just getting a new monitor and mounting it on the wall or something. Other than that, though, it's surprisingly easy to work at 1 mph. I've been in a meeting, I've been typing and mousing, all with no worries. And I've been walking at a gentle pace of 1 mph for 2 hours already today. I have to admit it feels pretty good to be up and moving around rather than sitting all cramped up at my usual desk.
